Abstract
Charcoal from recycled Japanese cedar waste carbonized at high temperatures can eliminate the organic matter released from rice straw. According to a column test using rice straw water, if the percentage by volume of charcoal from recycled wood waste mixed in the soil is at least 20% (approximately), the organic matter elimination effect of the charcoal made from recycled waste can be maintained for 130 days or more.
From the results of a pot cultivation test using rice plants and field water, the effect lasts for approximately 120 days.
